The doomed henchwoman fears the heroes and horrors that stalk her. She SCREAMS when they loom over her! She grunts, winces and groans as they kill her. She is a pitiful victim: a sacrificial pawn. She loses everything for an agenda never meant to avail her. Why? Why does she suffer the cruel irony?
Small and weak, a henchwoman finds comfort in a crowd of her sisters. Unimaginative and insignificant, she finds purpose by serving a will beyond her own. Her mediocre thoughts are given direction and her petty feelings are made into devotion. Anonymous under her own name, she finds her identity in the name of her cause. She and her sisters are sheep herded by wolves. They are lambs gathered for the slaughter.
I love the useless, expendable henchwoman. I favor her as I celebrate her doom. As the least of all characters, she is the greatest of them all. She is weak! Yes, she is weak. Strong? We have plenty of heroes, heroines, bosses and monsters for that. Dominatrixes already abound for those who want their female villains formidable. The useless, expendable henchwoman enjoys the DISTINCTION of being WEAK among the comely warriors of art and fiction. Let us offer a moment of silence for the MANY of her who perish for our delight.

As usual I love your analysis here. As a huge fan of the silenced sentry concept I love the image what is going on in the girl's mind as she stands guard unaware she is being stalked and about to be dispatched.
Perhaps she is thinking about her plans after her shift. Or how bored she is. Maybe she is daydreaming or maybe even having a little sexual fantasy and has gotten herself a little turned on.
Regardless, she has her own thoughts but the intruder could care less. To the intruder as you say 'she is an incompetent nuisance". A sexy incompetent nuisance, but an incompetent nuisance none the less.
She never stands a chance. The attacker is stronger, more skilled and smarter.
Her boss probably didn't even know her name and could care less about what has happened to her.
